Principal Optical Engineer/Scientist – Holography

Our client is looking for a Principal Optical Engineer/Scientist to join their team in Fife.  You will develop expertise in the holographic design and origination process, understand completely the in-house design software and mastering machinery.

As our client's Principal Optical Engineer/Scientist you will be for responsible for:

  • Operation and ongoing development of holographic mastering technology
  • Increase the company’s capacity and capability for hologram mastering
  • Contribute to advancing the expansion of mastering capacity and performance
  • Lead the identification, documentation and filing of key know-how, trade-secrets and IPR 
  • Develop a training program and assist with technology strategy for digital mastering

To be considered for this role you will have the following skills/expertise:

  • B. Sc. in Physics or Optoelectronics, M. Sc or PhD in Applied Optics is a distinct advantage or holographic experience would be considered.
  • In-depth experience in modelling or designing complex optical systems using appropriate commercial tools such as ZEMAX, FRED, Igor/MATLAB, and similar.
  • Practical knowledge of theory, design and assembly of coherent optical systems.
  • Knowledge of lasers and volume holography/diffractive optics.
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical design aspects of electro-optical systems.
  • Integration of complex systems.
