Our client is seeking a new Technical Manager to join their small team in a family-run food production manufacturing business.

You will be responsible for running the technical function of the business, ensuring that it runs to key customers such as Marks and Spencer COPs, as well as Soil Association and SALSA standards. You will be expected to work collaboratively within a small management team with a broad outlook on the entire business, and contributing to all areas that interact with your core technical role. You will be responsible for the technical aspects of NPD (ie taking an agreed kitchen recipe through to packaging development, specification approval and ingredient sourcing etc). As well as maintaining and improving the factory systems and quality management, there are opportunities to contribute to the growth and development of a business with strong environmental and ethical principles.
Experience in food manufacturing is essential and knowledge and experience of Marks and Spencer and organic standards would be advantageous.
Most of all, however, our client is looking for someone with an open and collaborative manner, good IT skills, attention to detail and a clear logical problem-solver.
